Glass Spirals

I bought some glass from a guy on Craigslist this weekend and included were these very cool glass spirals. He made them by twisting different colored glass over a torch. I'm not sure how I'm going to use them yet, but I think they'd make some awesome pendants. What do you think?

Oh, those are great. I took a class once to learn how to do that and ended up with some nice pieces. But torches and I don't get along. I kept forgetting about the flame and reaching in front of it. Burned my arm several times, although not bad. :) So decided I'd just have to have someone else make them for me. They are great to use for all kinds of things. I used some of mine as some accents on some small plates/bowls I made as a gift.

Thanks Kay! His torch was included in the stuff I bought, so I might give it a try. Though it sounds scary to me. :) As for using them... I think I'm limited since I don't have a saw to slice them up. I may have to take a hammer to them, or I have to find someone with a saw.

Toni, if you have some mosaic clippers, they will cut across them. May not get as nice a cut as a saw, but you'll get usable pieces. Some might break by hand if they're not too thick. And you might be able to slightly score them with your glass cutter and then break them, although I haven't tried that yet. Enjoy, they look great.
